Event 19/11 with SIFE - Students in Free Enterprise0
As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, we are delighted to announce our forthcoming event with SIFE - Student in Free Enterprise - on Friday 19th November at Dialogue Cafe Amsterdam and Rio de Janeiro.
Student in Free Enterprise or SIFE, is an international non-profit organization that works with leaders in business and higher education to mobilize university students to make a difference in their communities while developing the skills to become socially responsible business leaders.
4pm-6pm (CET), Friday 19 November
Doors open at 3.45pm CET, with drinks from 6pm-7pm CET.
Location: Waag, Nieuwmarkt 4, Amsterdam/ UCAM, Rua da Assembléia, 10, Centro, Rio de Janeiro. Entrance is free/ please send an email to christine@waag.org or ucam@dialoguecafe.org, if you would like to join.
Students form teams at their university campuses and apply business concepts to develop outreach projects that improve the quality of life and standard of living for people in need. There's an annual series of regional forums so the teams present the results of their projects, the evaluation is done by business leaders serving as judges. To date, SIFE operates in 39 countries worldwide, with 48,000 students working on 8,700 Team Community Projects and volunteering a total of 4,900,000 hours.
The national champion team advance to the prestigious SIFE World Cup. In addition to the community aspect of the program, SIFE's leadership and career initiatives create meaningful opportunities for learning and exchange among the participants as well as the placement of students and alumni with companies in search of emerging talent.
As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, Dialogue Café has invited the teams from Rio de Janeiro and Amsterdam, to meet each other, discuss about the different local challenges in business areas, and to exchange experiences about being part of the SIFE network. In Rio de Janeiro, the team from CEFET will talk to students from SIFE Netherlands.
