Session on Integration of Minorities and Social Cohesion

Session on Integration of Minorities and Social Cohesion

The Dialogue Café Novi Pazar was funded as result of the UN project “Improving Human Security for Vulnerable Communities in southwest Serbia”. A programme of sessions have been led by Dialogue Cafe Novi Pazar since its official opening on different issues of interest such as : interethnic and interreligious trust, minority rights, non-discrimination and gender equality, the integration of minorities and community cohesion, innovative textile production and green societies, with the aim of promoting exchange of good practices with other EU countries.

In this framework, DC Novi Pazar will also lead the organisation of a session on: “Youth participation in decision making processes – towards more accepting, open societies” (22 June from 14h00 to 15h30 London time).

Participation is a fundamental right. It is one of the guiding principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights that has been reiterated in many other Conventions and Declarations. Through active participation, young people are empowered to play a vital role in their own development as well as in that of their communities. The significance of participation was emphasized in the World Programme of Action for Youth, adopted by the General Assembly in 1995.

The programme will take place as follows:

Moderator: Mr. Stefan Kondic, President of the UN Association of Serbia Youth Section, DC Novi Pazar Team

– DC Novi Pazar:

  • Ms Aleksandra KnezevicMinistry of Youth and Sport, Republic of Serbia
  • Mr Jasmin Mujezinovic – Representative of the Office for Youth, Novi Pazar
